How Odex Works
Odex is an all-natural, biodegradable odor neutralizing solution made entirely of food-grade products. It has been found to be completely safe for human exposure by an independent laboratory and has been used extensively by organizations such as the EPA, Army Corps of Engineers, Waste Management, IT Corp and Allied.
Odex is a liquid, which neutralizes odors by attaching itself to the odorous molecules and converting them into non-odorous compounds. Most commonly, this Odex/odor interaction comes about by creating a fine mist of Odex near the odor source. The denser the "cloud" of mist, the greater the chances an odorous molecule will be neutralized by Odex.

Odorous molecules leave an odor source (e.g. compost pile) and enter the airstream where they encounter air saturated with droplets of Odex and water. The droplet of water is roughly 105 times larger than the odor molecule.

The odor molecules collide with droplets of Odex and water. The
surface tension of the droplet is substantially lower than that of pure water, thereby increasing the odds that the odor molecule will be absorbed by the droplet of Odex and water. |
The droplet drags the odor molecule to the ground, thereby
removing it from the airstream. Once on the ground, the odor molecule gets converted into a non-odorous, aqueous solution, (e.g. H2S into H2SO4, NH3 into liquid ammonia). |
Cost Advantages: The purchase price of Odex is competitive with other odor neutralizers on the market. However, the
usage cost of Odex is considerably lower than other products. And that's because we make Odex in a highly concentrated form. Whereas many competitive products recommend dilution.
